KAYA 3M Revolution 2026 Recap: Key Takeaways & What the RBA Rate Rise Means for You
From 31 October to 4 November 2026, our directors Tung Nguyen and Edy Hartono attended all five days of the KAYA 3M Revolution. The event is the flagship annual event of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce Western Australia (ICCWA). Across five days and five venues, it brought together 9,545 people: business owners, investors, students, government representatives and families from many cultures.
Financehub Co was proud to sponsor the event. We were honoured to receive a Sponsorship Appreciation Certificate from the ICCWA community.
What does “KAYA 3M” mean?
The name works in two languages. “Kaya” means “Welcome” in Noongar and “Wealth” in Bahasa Indonesia. “3M” stands for Mindset, Marketing and Money, the three disciplines that turn ambition into lasting success. This year was the event’s third edition, and the sixth consecutive year it has run as ICCWA’s flagship event. iccwaiccwa

Learning from Tung Desem Waringin
The keynote speaker and guest of honour was Tung Desem Waringin, flown in from Indonesia. He is one of Indonesia’s best-known motivators and marketing experts. He is a former BCA banker who founded TDW Resources in 2002, a company that runs seminars, training and corporate coaching. His books include Financial Revolution (2006), Marketing Revolution (2008) and Life Revolution (2018). stabilitasgramedia
As two former bankers who built our own business, we found his journey from banking to entrepreneurship especially relevant.
Our key takeaways
Mindset. Success starts with how you think. Wealth is built by people who plan, keep learning and act with confidence, not by waiting for perfect conditions.
Marketing. Good marketing is really about relationships. People do business with those they know and trust. Showing up, adding value and being part of the community matters more than any advertisement.
Money. Money is a tool, and structure matters. Knowing your numbers, managing cash flow and using the right finance strategy can make the difference between surviving and growing.
“Tak kenal maka tak sayang”
Our favourite new Indonesian phrase from the week was “Tak kenal maka tak sayang”. It means “you cannot love what you don’t know.”
The phrase sums up the event well. You can’t appreciate a culture, a business partner or an opportunity until you take the time to understand it. That applies to property and finance too. Many people feel anxious about borrowing because they don’t fully understand their position. Once they do, the fear often turns into confidence.
Edy Hartono on the expert panel
On Day 4, Edy joined the expert panel at Perth Town Hall. The panel, titled “The Market – 2027 Outlook”, was moderated by Rio Varen, and Edy spoke to 175 property investors. Fellow panellists included Nicole Tan, Ahmad Ibrahimi, Rebecca Chivers and Max Jia.
Edy shared his perspective as a finance broker on:
- Interest rates and their impact on borrowing capacity
- Property investment opportunities and market sentiment
- Using equity strategically to build wealth
- Managing cash flow and protecting your financial position
- Why the right financing strategy matters in a changing market
His key message was that property opportunities aren’t only about finding the right property. “Having the right finance structure, understanding your borrowing capacity and making informed decisions are equally important.” Those who prepare early and know their numbers will be in a stronger position in 2027.
Bringing business, government and community together
ICCWA brought together business owners, government bodies and cultures from across Western Australia and Indonesia. The event was supported by Invest & Trade Western Australia and the City of Perth. We left with new friends, new ideas and a deeper appreciation for the Indonesian community in Perth.
Thank you to ICCWA President Agata Dharma, Event Chair Indah Melindasari and the whole organising team for an outstanding five days.
Rates rose on 3 November. Are you worried?
The property forum took place on the same day as the Reserve Bank’s latest decision. The RBA lifted the cash rate by 0.25 percentage points to 4.85%. It is the fifth rise of 2026 and the highest cash rate since late 2008. The decision was not unanimous: six board members voted to increase the rate and three voted to hold.
If your lender passes the increase on in full, repayments on a $600,000 loan could rise by around $100 a month. For many households, that adds to pressure that is already there.
You don’t have to wait and worry. There are often options available:
- Reviewing your current rate and asking your lender for a better deal
- Refinancing to a more competitive loan
- Restructuring your loan to ease cash flow
- Checking your borrowing capacity before your next purchase
